Research Interests

  • Studies on the genotoxic effects of factors, potentially harmful to life and environment (pharmaceutical compounds, environmental pollutants, pesticides, electromagnetic fields etc) in experimental systems in vitro and in vivo, using a variety of classical and molecular assays and approaches
  • Other topics of interest are the human occupational exposure in chemical and physical factors, the interactions between physicochemical properties and genetic activity of various chemical compounds, the evaluation of genotoxicity and antigenotoxicity of natural compounds and the genotoxicity of nanomaterials
  • Recently, I have been involved in combined studies of advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) using genotoxicity biomarkers
